On this joyous occasion of Juneteenth, we, as a union, stand together in celebration and solidarity. Juneteenth holds profound historical significance as a day of freedom, liberation, and resilience for Black Americans.

Today, we honor the indomitable spirit of our ancestors who fought tirelessly for justice and equality. Juneteenth marks the moment when the news of emancipation reached the last enslaved individuals in Galveston, Texas, proclaiming their freedom and symbolizing the end of chattel slavery across the United States. It is a testament to the power of collective action, perseverance, and the unwavering belief that a better future is possible.

As a union, we recognize the importance of fostering an inclusive and equitable society. We are committed to championing social and economic justice, not only within our workplaces but also within the broader community. Juneteenth serves as a reminder that the struggle for freedom and equality is ongoing. It compels us to renew our commitment to dismantling systemic racism and ensuring that every individual is treated with dignity, fairness, and respect.
